International Inn Underbay

The pool and city backdrop were the best parts of our stay at International Inn on the Bay, and the low price was appealing. The entrance is striking, with a pretty staircase and huge bay windows stretching from ceiling to floor. The room amenities could use better quality, though, and food and drink options nearby are limited. We stayed four days, and the traffic and noise were miserable the whole time. The waterfront location is lovely, but being right by the highway meant constant traffic from tourists, possible residents and contractors, plus other random noise. I couldn't understand why they would book rooms next to one being remodeled. Service was decent. There are different front desk staff because the business is open 24 hours, and they were as helpful as they could be. The owners were around during the day on some days. There was an English barrier, but we could still communicate. I'd recommend renting a car, since one-way Uber and Lyft trips can cost $20-$35, and rush hour matters when planning outings. The location isn't bad, but I wouldn't stay here again or anywhere nearby. If you sleep through anything and want a quick, affordable Miami trip, you might like it.

This place felt like a blast from the past. The room, bathroom, and bedding were clean, which was just what I needed after a long flight. The International Inn worked well as a convenient layover and delivered on the things that mattered for a short stop. It's not perfect, but I'd come back for another simple overnight stay.

We booked three nights through booking.com but stayed only one because they wouldn't give a full refund. The place was very expensive, and the room was nasty with very poor service. The bathroom was old, dirty, and stinky. There was hair on the floor, and the hallway smelled bad too. The outlet beside the bed didn't work, and there was no oven in the room. The room smelled like a wet towel, the toilet wouldn't flush, the TV didn't work, and the AC wasn't working properly. On top of that, they kept my deposit, saying the room smelled of cigarettes. I don't even smoke. They also make you leave a tip in a dirty, stained envelope that literally says “tip mandatory.” Quite a stay. I'll never go back or recommend it to anyone I know. They might as well turn the place into a shelter.
