L&D Vacations Rentals

When rain came, water poured into the unit and across the floor. We told Lola about the emergency, but she never came out or tried to move us to another unit. The toilets stayed backed up the whole time. She had said we could use the washer and dryer in the unit, but the rest of the place was a nightmare. My family stayed with L&D vacation rentals over Spring break this week, and we felt scammed. The photos falsely advertised Apartment M21, which looked absolutely nothing like the listing. It was a moldy roach nest. From day one the locks didn’t work properly, and someone had to come fix them after we were locked out of the unit we’d paid for. It smelled of urine mixed with cleaning products, and it was only half cleaned, still dirty. We complained to Lola, who showed little care or concern. We’d already paid, so felt we had no choice but to stay all week, upset that we’d paid for such a dump. The beds were worn and stained, the stairs were hazardous, and the carpets disgusting. The kitchen was very old, as were the couches, and we couldn’t get comfortable in the unit. It’s disgusting that the castle still allows them to rent units out. I’ve never had such a nightmare vacation.

They started by saying we could rent a boogie board for $15 for 24 hours or $10 for two days. Once we rented one, they said we also had to leave a deposit. The board was broken in half, but the kid kept saying, “it’s okay it’s okay!” We only had it for an hour and 15 minutes, but they tried to keep the deposit, claiming it wasn’t broken when we rented it and that we’d had it all day. That made no sense. After a childish argument, we did get the deposit back. These people take things left in rooms and rent them to future guests!!! This has to be one of the shadiest places ever. Just don’t. It’s not worth it, go to Walmart!

Our vacation turned into a nightmare. The power was out for three hours, and a hotel employee blamed a child playing with the breaker. Later, agent Lola said it was a neighborhood issue, even though the other buildings still had lights. Near midnight, we had to leave the building, along with other guests. Room M21 was awful: it smelled strongly of dampness and urine, the curtains and furniture were torn and dirty, and the second level was unbearable to stay on.

They charged us $480.00 for jet skis we never got to ride, and we never got our money back. They said we could pay at the meeting spot, but once my family and I were taken by boat far offshore, they demanded cash. We felt unsafe and paid. Then they left us on a platform with two broken jet skis for over an hour before taking us back to shore. I spoke with Miami PD, who told me to stay away and said the company was known for scamming people and that they were building a case. Avoid them.
