The neighborhood was great, but calling this place a hotel is a stretch. There are about 30 rooms, they’re very old and needed cleaning, and the AC was a window unit with no heat. If you have trouble with heat or hot water, there’s no one to talk to. Don’t book through Hotel.com if you might need to cancel, since it’s non-refundable. You can check out and leave, but you won’t get a refund.

The rooms have vintage decor, so don’t expect anything fancy, but the bed was very comfortable and the street noise didn’t bother me at all. I stayed five nights and really enjoyed the rustic charm. Norman's has been a North Beach staple since 1970, and you can feel that nostalgia when you walk in. It made me feel like a real Mobster from the 70's, as if Madonna herself might come through the doors at any moment. The Pub downstairs was lively, with good food deals for Guests and a great weekday Happy Hour Menu. My one complaint was the weak shower pressure. I’ll be back to Norman's for sure!

We’ve stayed all over Miami, but Norman’s Hotel and Tavern gave us a great experience for the money. It’s fully renovated, clean, comfortable, and just a minute from the ocean. This isn’t a luxury resort, but it had what we needed and most of what we wanted for one-ninth the price of other hotels we’ve used. The savings let us book a deep-sea fishing charter, take an airboat ride through the Everglades, get professional beach photos, and cover all our Ubers without stress. We didn’t need a rental car, since nearly everything we wanted to do was within a 10-minute drive. Staff were genuinely kind, attentive when we needed them, and respectful of our space. Julietta, our bartender, made the stay even better. She’s beautiful, friendly, engaging, and loves connecting with everyone who comes through the door. Her energy brought the place to life. The tavern downstairs is a great bonus, with good food and a guest discount. You do have to take out your own trash. Norman’s gave us an affordable, convenient, authentic Miami experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone who values location and hospitality over bells and whistles.

The room was dark and dirty, with broken things everywhere. There was mold in the bathroom, and the shower was broken with no water. It felt like a prison cell. Never again! 🥲😞
