My wife and I had a disappointing visit to Barbizon Restaurant Garden & Hookah Lounge in Miami Beach. We only ordered a cortadito and a latte, and it felt like the staff’s attitude changed when they realized we weren’t getting a full breakfast or an expensive meal. We sat outside by the street. When I asked another waitress or host if I could pay with her, she told me to find our original waitress. So I walked all the way inside to locate her at the register. Roxana took my card, ran the payment, gave me the receipt, then turned away without a word. No thanks or goodbye. I even had to ask for the receipt because the interaction felt so cold and dismissive. A 20% service charge had already been added to our simple coffee order, but the service still felt rude and unwelcoming. Everyone deserves basic courtesy and professionalism, no matter what they spend. The whole thing left us with a bad impression. She is a disgrace to the business.

Paolo was the star of our Valentine’s Day dinner. He was attentive and charismatic, and fit the romantic but lively mood perfectly. The mixed seafood grill was fantastic, especially the two succulent lobster tails, cooked just right. We also took on the legendary Bulldog Margarita, topped with two Corona beers. It felt like a whole experience, not just a cocktail. Between that and the world-class seafood, we had an incredible night, the best Valentine’s Day yet. We’ll absolutely be back.

The view is the only good thing if you’re hoping to sleep. The downstairs “restaurant” plays awful music right up to 2am, and the windows might as well not be there. The employees also act predatory when you’re leaving and coming back. Avoid this place completely if you value sleep.

Avoid this place. The menu prices don’t match the bill, and they don’t mention that gratuity is included. Then they try to guilt you into leaving more. The server wouldn’t let me keep the receipt, which seemed shady. I think it’s because they upcharge.

Really good drinks, excellent service, and a totally relaxed atmosphere. I was traveling alone, and the front of house brought a third chair so my bag could sit right next to me instead of across the table, where it could’ve been grabbed. I appreciated that. A great place to unwind after the beach, highly recommend.
