Bubbly and ice cream at check-in? I was sold! I’m a Bonvoy member and visit Miami often, and The Goodtime Hotel gave us one of my most vibrant, memorable South Beach stays. We brought our 6yo son and had lovely, peaceful mornings by the pool, along with delicious meals, bike rides, and fun. The energy is obvious as soon as you arrive. The pool scene is hard to match, with its signature pink colors, palm-lined deck, warm water, and live DJs. It feels like a playful, stylish European beach club in Miami, lively without feeling chaotic and stylish without trying too hard. The beach club was just as good. The dedicated chairs are on a prime stretch of sand, making it easy to go from lounging by the pool to relaxing by the ocean. Having well-located seating guaranteed made a real difference, with no stress, just sunshine and turquoise water. The rooms are bright, fresh, and modern, with thoughtful design throughout. Staff were warm, polished, and consistently helpful. The location is spot on, close to the action but tucked away enough to feel curated and cool. The Goodtime captures the joyful, stylish, easygoing fun I want from Miami.

The room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and always happy to help, and the pool was lovely. I also liked having a great workspace and both indoor and outdoor gym areas. Everything was exceptionally clean. I’d happily stay here again.

As a Titanium Marriott member, I expected help finding another room when the hotel couldn’t accommodate us. Instead, my wife and I ended up sleeping on a friend’s floor, and the hotel never followed up properly. We arrived on Saturday the 24th at 3:30. They said the systems were down but staff were checking people in manually, so we left our bags and enjoyed the cute pool party. When we checked again at 6:00 before going out, the front desk apologized and assured us our room would be ready. After dinner, we returned around midnight. The agent took 15 minutes, then told us there was no room for us. When I asked about other Marriott hotels, they only offered an Uber to wherever we were going. Marriott policy, as I understand it, is to find us another hotel. A week passed without any word from the hotel. I emailed the manager and got a form response that didn’t address the problem. My later questions have gone unanswered too.

For what it costs, this place wasn’t worth it, and we wouldn’t book again. The biggest disappointment was the beach setup: it’s listed as having beach access and loungers, but the hotel is a couple of blocks from the beach and has no loungers. The front desk can give you cheap folding chairs to carry there yourself. The pool is a club, with outside visitors paying $50 for the day. Hotel guests pay another $45 per night to use it, and the chairs are reserved for those parties. The restaurant has a tiny menu, and even the fries are $22. There’s no mini market or vending for snacks and drinks. The lobby and common space are much smaller than the website photos suggest, with at most two people working at a time. Our room was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in, so two people have to squeeze around each other. There was no coffee, closet, or microwave, the shower had no liner so water went everywhere, and we only had two full size towels. The staff themselves seemed great, though.
