The Miami Beach EDITION

I’ve stayed at plenty of Marriott hotels and usually feel that my Platinum upgrade requests are considered fairly. At The Miami Beach EDITION, though, I felt brushed off and misled. The front desk said the hotel was full, but the property didn’t look close to full. It came across as an excuse to avoid recognizing a loyal guest who spends a significant amount with Marriott. I know upgrades depend on availability at arrival and aren’t guaranteed. The problem was how the denial was handled. A luxury hotel should explain things honestly and respectfully, especially to loyal guests. The Marriott benefits are part of why people stick with the brand, and shouldn’t feel casually or selectively applied. I’d like management to look into how Platinum Elite upgrade requests are handled here. The interaction felt avoidant, tacky, and below what I expect from Marriott and The EDITION brand. The front desk should be trained to give a clear, truthful explanation if an upgrade isn’t available. Guests should feel valued, not dismissed or misled. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to Marriott Bonvoy elite members expecting professional service and fair recognition of their status.

We can’t wait to come back. The Miami Beach EDITION sits right on the beach, and the property is gorgeous, with thoughtfully designed rooms. The staff made the visit feel special, always welcoming and attentive. Its restaurants, pools, and atmosphere combine luxury with a relaxed feel. It would work beautifully for a romantic escape or a stylish beach trip.

The poolside team were especially attentive, and the spa was a peaceful stop. It was beautifully lit, and the lemon mint chlorophyll water was refreshing before and after our couples massage. Matador Room was another standout, with excellent service, an impressive wine list, and caviar service we thought was perfect. My spouse and I spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Miami Beach EDITION, April 24th-27th. The property feels huge and spacious, but the lobby and interiors still come across as sophisticated. We stayed in a Bungalow in a separate, tucked-away section. It was private and roomy, with a good layout. Our ocean view was nice, though I especially liked looking over the original pool area of the historic Seville Hotel. A neat bit of history alongside modern comforts. Market was our usual breakfast stop. The smoothies were fantastic. The coffee tasted a little as if it had sat on the burner too long, but was decent enough to get the day going. From the accommodating front desk to the thoughtful design, everything was handled with care. We had a wonderful stay and will be back.

We want to thank the team for making my husband’s birthday at the Miami Beach Edition so memorable. Cody and Zeynep at the front desk, Tatianna at Market, and Val, Braxton, and Chef Chris at Matedor Bar are some of the staff who stood out. Their steady attention and service made the celebration special. The experience was five-star largely because of the people, and we’ll definitely return.
