Shore Club South Beach

The room was clean when I arrived, with a few treats left to enjoy if I wanted. Housekeeping did a very thorough job, and the restaurant food was good. The manager and staff were friendly and really helpful, explaining what to see around the resort and pointing out good local spots. I’d definitely come back with friends or family.

The hotel feels open and airy, and the location is great for getting around. We liked the two pools, the bar, and having a private beach just seconds away. Staff were lovely, and the rooms were clean and modern, though they could use a little more TLC. The only real downside was people leaving towels on sunbeds for hours and then coming back, which kept others from using them.

I loved the courtyard and pool area, and the outside of the hotel looked beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, and being so close to the beach was a real plus. There’s a door at the back of the pool area just steps from the sand, with chairs, beds, umbrellas, and friendly staff available there. The restaurant next door’s roof was the view from my third-floor junior suite with two queen beds. The room itself was plain and didn’t look like the pictures on the site. It didn’t feel clean when I arrived, and the floor felt dirty once I took off my shoes. The outside window was open, and there were cigarette ashes on the ledge between the two windows. I could also hear what sounded like animals moving and scratching in the ceiling during the day and night. Over my four nights, the K-cups were replaced once, and those were all decaf. I called the front desk, they apologized and sent coffee up right away. The coffee still wasn’t replaced during the next two room cleanings, so I had to call again. Aside from that, the stay was alright. I’d have given the hotel another star if the room had been a better experience.

For $30, we got day passes for the pools and a huge cabana bed in the sun, with plenty of towels. The pool attendant helped us find a good spot, and there was also a server making regular rounds if we didn’t want to go up to the poolside bar ourselves. You could order food too, though the pool menu was smaller. The food and drink prices were good. There’s a restaurant with a big covered patio where you can keep an eye on your pool spot while you eat. It was Monday, but the hotel was packed everywhere, with people relaxing and having a good time. The location has a laid-back feel, the bathrooms around the pools were clean, and there’s beach access right from the pool area. Everything we needed was there.
