From the private terrace, the city and ocean views make a striking backdrop, whether you’re in the infinity pool, sitting outdoors, or having a gathering under the stars. Inside, the floor-to-ceiling windows bring in sunlight and the Atlantic’s blue tones. Contemporary furnishings and modern amenities complete the carefully designed space. The penthouse at The Netherlands on Ocean Drive is an indulgent Miami Beach retreat. It feels like far more than a place to stay, with a polished, sophisticated atmosphere throughout. A memorable way to experience the city.

The location and accommodations were great, especially for first-timers wanting to be in the middle of South Beach. Just keep in mind it’s an apartment/condo setup, not a hotel. You’ll be doing things yourself, like laundry, dishes, and making the bed, unless you’d rather stay somewhere with hotel service.

We’d planned this vacation about five months ahead and had everything confirmed and paid for, but when we arrived at The Netherlands by South Beach, they claimed I’d never made a reservation. They’d apparently let someone else book over ours after taking our money. It was a three-bedroom, too. We had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. Terrible experience, and I don’t trust them. Don’t book.

We stayed from 2019.03.14 to 2019.03.18. The place was clean and nice, but there wasn’t any shopping nearby and the road for cars was closed. A nightclub downstairs made it VERY noisy all day and night. We were there for a bachelorette trip with my five girlfriends, though, and didn’t mind since we were out partying late anyway.
