The Whitelaw Hotel

Julio made this visit for me. He was attentive, professional, and always ready to help, with a positive attitude that made me feel looked after throughout the stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and organized from the moment I arrived. My room was especially comfortable and clean, and the welcoming atmosphere added to the experience. Isa at the front desk made a real difference during my stay this past week. She helped me with directions, pointed me toward good coffee, and even arranged a ride back to the airport. She didn’t have to do that, and I appreciated how kind and patient she was. The rooms are stylish and trendy, which made the visit more enjoyable. I had an excellent experience, and Isa is a real standout.

The Whitelaw Hotel had some real positives: the location was ideal, the restaurant was amazing, the staff were friendly, and we liked the room décor. Our girls’ trip was enjoyable, but we wouldn’t stay here again because of the problems we ran into. The room had several cracks that felt like a safety concern. There was no hand soap or washcloths, so we kept having to ask the front desk for basics. The key card repeatedly stopped working, and with just one person at reception, waits could top ten minutes depending on the issue. There weren’t enough outlets, and the ones we had were so loose that plugs wouldn’t stay secure. The elevator was out during our visit. My friend had booked an accessible room and struggled badly with the stairs. We told staff, but were told the hotel was full and nothing could be arranged. If you book an accessible room, you expect elevator access or a reasonable alternative. There was no microwave in the room either, so we had to use the hotel next door’s.

The staff were wonderful, and the hotel was clean, though the floor wasn’t quite level and the air conditioner leaked. It looks like an older hotel that’s been updated. Our TV wasn’t working, but they brought in a replacement before bed. There’s plenty within walking distance. I’d stay again if the price were right.
