The halls and the route to the elevator smelled strongly of mildew and stale air, and there wasn’t much air movement. The room itself looked far more worn than the staged, touched-up pictures online. Our pre-paid booking had been overbooked, so at check-in they put us in a lower room category, I think, and their first suggestion was two rooms for two people. We eventually got something close to what we’d booked, but not quite. Neither key card worked, so we had to go back to reception. The pool was closed, with no mention of that online that I could find. Breakfast was called continental, but all we got was bitter coffee and a muffin. Even the desk staff suggested going to IHOP, which would be fine if breakfast hadn’t been included in what we paid. For the price, this wasn’t worth it, and I’m trying to get some kind of refund.

We only needed a night near the airport after a late flight from Atlanta, and the hotel did the job, but I wouldn’t return or recommend it. We booked through Expedia.com, arrived a little after 1am, and check-in was quick. Nothing alarming stood out at first, though the carpet outside the rooms was dirty. Inside, it was mediocre and didn’t match the reviews I’d read. The sofa had obvious scratches, so I took photos and called the desk to make clear we hadn’t caused them. The hard floors made sandals a must. The bed was supposed to be a queen, but seemed and felt more like a full. The kitchenette counters looked newer, while the room overall needs updating. There were no washcloths. My husband asked at the desk and was told they didn’t have any, so we had to use hand towels, which felt awkward and unappealing. The shower had cracks and a rusty shower head. Based on what I’d read before booking, I expected better. I wouldn’t pay to stay another night or come back.

The hallways smelled bad, breakfast was very limited, and we even had to ask for a cup for coffee. After two nights, we asked for a late checkout and were told it wasn’t available. When I asked if there was a bathroom where we could wait for our ride, the desk clerk said no and told us to use a store or another hotel across the street. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We’d booked two beds for four adults and a kitchenette, but arrived to find only two towels and two washcloths, with no cookware, plates, or utensils. When I tried to switch on the light, the broken pole lamp fell on me. The room phone had no dial tone, so I went down to report everything. The woman at the desk brought a whole rack of dishes and handed it over without offering a cart or help carrying them upstairs. She didn’t say whether the phone would be fixed. I also had to go back down to get the towels and washcloths.

The rooms are rough, so don’t go cheap on your stay. Spend the extra money, trust me. The front desk lady was very sweet and friendly, and even helped me find an address or two. It’s across the street from the airport, though.
