Arlo Wynwood Miami

The staff made a strong impression from arrival to departure. They were consistently welcoming and attentive, and even helped load my luggage into the Uber. I’ve visited before for drinks, but this was my first two-night weekday stay as a business traveler. The common areas are beautiful, the bar has great drinks, and the rooftop is a lovely place to spend time. My room didn’t quite live up to the rest of the property. It was small, with very little room for even a small carry-on, and the walls seemed thin enough that noise traveled easily between rooms and across the floor. The window shade cord also seemed to be malfunctioning. The AC was inconsistent, making the room cold and drafty at times, then quite warm at others. Breakfast was mostly premade and the options were limited. There were a couple of healthier choices, like a yogurt parfait and overnight porridge, but I would have liked simple fresh options such as eggs or avocado toast. The atmosphere and public spaces are lovely, so I’d still stop in for a drink or spend time on the rooftop. Improvements to the rooms and breakfast would help the stay match the great first impression.

The staff at Arlo Wynwood made me feel comfortable and safe, and the location is ideal for getting around on foot. Johnathan at wyn wyn’s bar was kind and gave me great recommendations when I asked. I also enjoyed doing Pilates and working out in the gym. Any doubts! This hotel is amazing.

I’ve changed this from two stars to four. I was particularly tired when I first wrote the review, and after relaxing on the rooftop the next evening, I’d calmed down. Pedro up there was great company and gave excellent service, along with all kinds of local insights. If you come knowing there’ll be events and rooftop parties, you can have a fantastic time. I was booked here for a business trip and hadn’t had a chance to check the hotel first. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with most things you’d need. But it’s definitely a party hotel. Pool parties and ground-floor events bring music that can go until 10 or sometimes 11 PM, followed by noise from the partygoers. Foam earplugs are left by the beds, but they do little when bass-heavy speakers are right outside your balcony. It’s a shame because the rest of the hotel is quite nice, and I need a hotel to be somewhere I can sleep and rest. Lesson learned: I need to check business trip hotels beforehand.

The room could use more space for clothes. I ended up living out of my suitcase during my few-night stay, steaming items as I went instead of hanging everything up ready to wear. The steamer itself was very nice, but I don’t think I could stay more than a few days at a time. Apart from that, we had a fantastic time at the Arlo in Wynwood and will definitely return when we’re next in Miami for a short trip. The service was thoughtful all the way from the valet to the bartender and front desk. Jonnie at the bar at Wyn Wyn was an awesome host, and the Kitchen team at Wyn Wyn did a great job.
