The service was amazing, and the downtown location is convenient, about 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the Port of Miami. There's no airport shuttle, though there's a shuttle to the Port for $10/person. The room was okay, with decent beds and pillows, but it felt humid and smelled mildewy. It faced another building from the fifth floor. Downtown noise was rough all night, with sirens and cars revving. They provide a sound machine, but it didn't help much. The outdoor pool is only open 7am-7pm. The lobby restaurant and Starbucks are overpriced, and paying for everything made the stay poor value.

Our family plans changed at the last minute when our two boys unexpectedly joined us, and Sebastian at the front desk made a short-term upgrade request easy to sort out. He was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. He also checked in during the stay to make sure we had what we needed and offered thoughtful tips about Miami. The customer service made our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Miami wonderful. It reminded us why Marriott Bonvoy membership can feel worthwhile, when you feel recognized and cared for. Sebastian and the whole team made us feel valued. We'll absolutely be back, and we'd recommend the hotel.

The noisy road was the downside of our overnight stay before a Miami cruise, though luckily I travel with a sound machine. We could walk to nearby bars and places to eat, which was great. Booking the shuttle online was easy, but the driver dropped us far from the luggage dropoff area. We were taking a 3 week cruise and had more bags than average, so that was a real problem. I emailed the manager about it and never got a reply. Very disappointing.

There was a wait at the front desk, and they could use more staff who pay attention. It was busy, and some workers seemed to have little to do. That's a minor gripe, though. The rooms were large and clean, as you'd expect at a typical Courtyard, and the location was great. Overall, it was a great stay.

I only wanted my receipt and to leave at checkout, but Sebastian A. charged my card $342 in incidental fees. I showed him the charge on my account, and he kept suggesting I was mistaken or lying. It took asking for a manager four times before he acknowledged the problem. Karla confirmed it was their error and said she’d arrange the refund, though I’m still waiting for it. My week there was otherwise pretty forgettable. The restaurant and café attendants seemed miserable, so I wouldn’t buy food there. If Sebastian is helping you, check your card statement carefully. He never apologized, and that kind of response at work is unacceptable.
