Embassy Suites by Hilton Miami International Airport

We used this hotel for two nights after landing in Miami on the way to the Keys, then came back for another night before our early flight home. The airport shuttle was punctual, and the drivers were great, so transfers were stress-free. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and they even found my purse and returned it promptly!!!!! There was plenty of room for our family, with really comfy beds, a small balcony, and a pullout sofa that was surprisingly comfortable. The pool area was nice. It's an airport hotel, so it was loud and busy, just as we'd expected. The happy hour had free drinks and a fantastic bartender, plus live music that made it fun. The food, mostly chips and salsa, vegetables and ranch, was disappointing and barely seemed worth the time. We weren't impressed with the on-site restaurant menu or prices, so we ordered DoorDash instead. It was an expensive few nights, though rates seemed in line with other hotels nearby. A solid, convenient choice for airport travel.

The hotel is spacious and looks nice, and the breakfast selection was pretty good. But it’s not near many places to eat. They also charged us for two water bottles we never used, more than a week after we’d checked out. We got alerts from our credit card and called to get the charges reversed. People who don’t get those alerts might never notice. That felt really shady.

The lobby is huge, and the rooms are roomy and clean. We’ve stayed here before and after cruises twice, and we plan to come back. The beds are great, the bathrooms and showers gave us no trouble, and the pullout couch was comfortable without lumps or hard spots. Staff were friendly and answered our questions. I just wish breakfast ran a little later, though it does get me up earlier, haha. The lobby also works well for meeting friends and sharing takeout before heading to your room.

People kept slipping menus from outside restaurants under my room door, at all hours of the day and night. When I told the front desk, they said those people were trespassing, but it continued. That made the place feel neither secure nor controlled, and left me wondering how easily people could wander the halls. Service elsewhere was just as disappointing. Front desk staff were dismissive and didn’t help when I raised concerns, and the restaurant was painfully slow even for basic orders. The same lack of urgency and professionalism seemed to run through the stay. Between that, the security concern, and the poor service, I didn’t enjoy my time here. There are much better options in Miami. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.
