Leamington Hotel-Downtown/Port Of Miami

The location was on the forth floor, and we couldn’t spend the night. We checked out just 15 minutes after check-in and walked to the next block to switch hotels. I regret not reading the reviews and trusted the pictures on Orbitz, but our room didn’t look like them. Maybe the hotel being remodeled explains it. I think you should let some moths pass by so they can finish the full remodel and make it a pleasant stay. There were some positives: the beds were clean and in good condition, the toilet and sink were new, and there was a new elevator. But the WiFi didn’t work. The air conditioning was installed in a window, and the door had a real key, not an electronic card, so you can picture what it looked like. The halls seemed old, and inside the room the closet, doors, and bathroom walls were old too.

The rooms are tiny, but there’s enough space to feel comfortable. It was quiet and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were cinnamon rolls and a Danish for breakfast to get you going. It’s close to transportation and restaurants, so I’d recommend it. The hotel did loose power for a few. They told us respectfully and did their best to get it restored quickly.

We got a refund straight away and left. The bathroom was so nasty, and the lobby smelled like an old house. A man outside said that he and his wife had been getting bitten there for weeks, which made me think people were staying long term. Don’t let the downtown Miami location fool you like it did us. Do your research. I was disgusted.

The location is excellent, and Frank at the front desk was a real bright spot. He helped me several times and was polite, courteous, and pleasant. The hotel was so dirty. The shower was dingy enough that there was no way you could walk out feeling clean, and the toilet clogged after every flush. We were moved to a different room, where bugs were crawling around, including on the toilet paper. There was no breakfast, despite it being advertised online.
