Sonder - MiMo District

We'd happily stay here again. The room was a good size and clean, the pool was lovely, and everyone working at the hotel was friendly. We didn't know much about the MiMo district before staying at the New Yorker, but there are great restaurants and good bus connections into the city. Good value for money.

The price was really affordable for the area, and it was easy to get around with so much nearby. It's definitely a three-star place, a little dated but worth what we paid. Decently clean, no issues with the staff, and the one woman we spoke to was nice. Near the end of our stay, the shower water stopped getting hot, though I'm not sure why. It's on a main road, so traffic gets loud, and the walls are thin enough that you can hear people talking. Light sleepers might want to keep that in mind. There's a great taco place next door and an AMAZING bagel place called El Bagel about a five-minute walk away. Definitely check them out if you stay here.

I wasn't expecting the balcony to be shared, though it worked out since no one was staying in the other room during my visit. The parking lot is cramped and difficult to get around, but the location is excellent, right by a fantastic all-night taco bar. I've stayed here before and enjoyed it, and this visit was great too apart from the shared balcony. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern.

Bring earplugs if you want to sleep, since the street gets quite loud. Rooms at the back are probably quieter. The rooms were very clean and fresh, the beds comfortable, and the staff helpful. It's an older MiMo-style hotel in the MiMo area, and they're doing their best to keep it in good shape.
