Breakfast at Isabelle’s was a real highlight. It was consistently great, and I especially liked the Greek yogurt bowl with berries. We had a $50 daily F&B credit and hot breakfast for two included; if paying separately, breakfast could run $80-$100 or more for two. This was our third yearly visit to The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami. As a Lifetime Titanium Bonvoy member, I expected a lot, especially at around $800 a night before taxes and fees. We booked a City View Executive Suite (1 Bedroom, King, Sofa bed, Balcony) about two months ahead and emailed to ask for a quiet, high floor, non-connecting room away from the elevators. Instead, our room wasn’t available until almost 5pm, and we got Room 329 on the third of seven guest floors, right by the elevator and facing the street over the front entrance. It was pretty much the opposite of what we requested. The hotel was busy that weekend because Miami was hosting the NCAA National Championship. There was no welcome gift for my Lifetime Titanium status. Noise was another ongoing problem: late-night piped music, a loud bar, and construction nearby. I was told someone would look into it and follow up, but nobody called. On our last day, drilling next door went on for 1.5 hours even after we called twice. Christina Strong at the front desk immediately asked how she could make things right, and Lucas at Isabelle’s and Steve at the front entrance also gave excellent service. The property is beautiful, but at this price the room assignment, readiness, and noise handling need work.

I had a really enjoyable stay and would gladly come back. The room was smaller than I expected, but the location was excellent, with everything close by. The welcome treats and drinks were a nice touch. They also put out coffee in the lobby in the morning and tea in the afternoon. The staff were very warm and helpful: they checked in with me before arrival to confirm my room type after I accidentally booked two different types for separate days, and sent several emails to make sure everything was sorted.

Nicolas Alvarez made us feel truly valued, noticing what we might need before we even asked and handling every request with warmth and ease. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were outstanding. His service felt natural and thoughtful, exactly the sort of care you hope for at The Ritz-Carlton. He’s both well trained and clearly has a real gift for this work. To me, Nicolas represents the best of luxury hospitality and would be a tremendous asset in a leadership role, even managing an entire Ritz-Carlton. Thank you, Nicolas, for setting such a high standard. This was one of the most memorable service experiences I’ve had.

Isabelle’s Restaurant was another bright spot. Franklin gave us top-tier service, the hostess and other staff were delightful, and the food was excellent. I had a wonderful three-night stay at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, with a warm welcome and a team that made me feel cared for. Desmond handled my car professionally when I arrived, and Steve the bellman helped with my luggage and got me settled. Christina at the front desk made check-in one of the best I’ve had, and continued to make me feel at home through checkout. There was one disappointing exchange with Lucas at the front desk. I had to book an extra night myself through Expedia after he said there were no rooms available, and I felt brushed off and ignored when we spoke. I’m grateful to Manager Garcia for stepping in with kindness and professionalism. He resolved it right away, offered drinks and extra Marriott points, and helped me feel valued again. That hiccup aside, the atmosphere, hospitality, and attention to detail made this a special stay. I’d recommend the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove for comfort and attentive service, and I hope to return. Thanks to the whole team for making the visit memorable.

The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I also enjoyed the food at Isabelle’s. But the room had a lot of wear, which made the hotel’s age obvious. At this price for such a prestigious place, this was one of my worst stays. Noise was a major problem. I could hear the neighbors showering, their TV, and kids running around at 7am. The shower head was tiny and much too low. At 6’1 I couldn’t fit under it at all. Light also came in around the blackout curtains, so the room could use additional automated curtains. There isn’t much to do nearby on foot, though perhaps that’s part of the location’s appeal. Updating the rooms and improving soundproofing would be a worthwhile investment.
