The check-in and check-out instructions were detailed, which made everything easy. We also enjoyed the pool table and recreation area, plus the complimentary coffee in the lobby. I stayed at Tucker Palmer Apartments in Miami over Thanksgiving with my husband and our four teenagers. The apartment was clean and spacious, and it was conveniently close to Dadeland Mall and the restaurant where we had dinner. It worked perfectly for our family of six, and we’d stay there again when visiting with all the kids.

The room had a good amount of space, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Everyone we dealt with was kind and helpful, though most staff spoke little English; the concierge was the exception. A few things could be better: the beds squeaked, and some spots felt unclean and a bit sticky. It was a decent stay, but to me it felt closer to 3.5 stars than a full four.

The access situation was exhausting, especially traveling with kids. We received several codes for the property, building, and unit, and some didn’t work, so we had to contact support repeatedly just to get inside. Security was our biggest worry. The parking area stayed open the whole time, and one night we experienced what seemed to be an attempted break-in. We saw no functioning security measures, and afterward nobody gave us meaningful reassurance. It was frightening, particularly with children. The unit itself was in very poor condition. The beds were unstable and squeaked so badly we couldn’t rest. The air conditioner rattled all night, while the washer-dryer shook the floor enough that we avoided using it. Several lights didn’t work, making the apartment dim and hard to move around in safely. It also wasn’t clean or well maintained. The bathtub and sink were stained, pests were inside the unit, and the hallways smelled extremely unpleasant, as if the carpets hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. The promised city view looked out onto construction debris right outside the window. The outdoor area was just as disappointing. Construction was underway beside the pool, with debris falling around it, so it didn’t feel relaxing or safe. The pool itself looked neglected and nothing like the polished online pictures. From arrival onward, the property felt badly managed and far below what was advertised. I wouldn’t recommend Tucker at Palmer Dadeland.

I rented through Perk, and there was no mention during booking that Amazon or other retailer packages weren’t allowed. I only learned that after checking in, when it was too late. When I asked for help, Trucker just told me to talk to the concierge, who sent me back to Trucker. Support kept suggesting I might ask a manager, but that didn’t lead to any solution or anyone taking responsibility. Communication beforehand and proactive help were both missing. My experience with Trucker wasn’t good, and I wouldn’t recommend the service.

There was no Wi-Fi and NO STAFF ON SITE. I had to make expensive international calls from my UK mobile just to reach anyone. Housekeeping came in without notice, and afterward my rented baby cot box and accessories were gone. I had to replace them at my own expense. The so-called upgraded room was just as dusty, damaged, and neglected as the first. With both beds unstable and the mattresses very noisy, I spent several nights sleeping on the floor with my newborn. When I raised the cockroach infestation, I was told to use toxic bug spray from under the sink, which was reckless advice around an infant. On our second night, we woke twice to aggressive banging on the door, ten minutes apart. It felt like someone was trying to get in, and my children were terrified. Kasa said there were no cameras in that area and offered no real help or protection, only empty apologies. The original apartment had been filthy and unsafe, with broken beds, cockroaches, electrical faults, and no visible security or working cameras. I was postpartum, exhausted, and emotionally fragile, and the stay pushed me past my limits. What should have been a safe family trip became a stressful nightmare I won’t forget. Kasa’s response felt dismissive and insulting: just $419 compensation for days of fear, sleeplessness, health hazards, and financial loss. The most disgusting and traumatic stay of my life. If you care about your safety, wellbeing, and your family’s peace of mind, avoid Kasa Tucker.
