Best Western Plus Miamisburg Dayton Suites Banquet

We almost left before checking in. The exterior was run down and so dimly lit, especially near the entrance, that in the dark we thought we might have the wrong building or that the hotel was closed. There were only one or two cars in the lot, which made us uneasy about parking and going inside. The inside was a different story at first: spacious, fairly clean, and nicer looking, and our room seemed decent too. The hotel apparently used to be a Doubletree before Best Western bought it. Then, late at night, we found a bed bug on the pillow. Staff said they weren't sure what one looked like, though they thought it might be one. They moved us to another room, and we checked it very carefully before bed. I can't tell whether the bug came from the laundry or was in the first room, and we didn't want to investigate further to see how many there might be. In the replacement room, the bathroom door wouldn't latch, so we wedged it shut with a towel; the heater door kept swinging open, so we used a chair to hold it closed. The sofa sleepers in both rooms had no cushion support, making you tip forward if you sat down. Breakfast was an ordinary hotel breakfast and not badly priced. Still, with the condition of the room and the poor exterior lighting, I don't expect to return. I understand even expensive hotels can have bed bugs, so I can't say for sure whether I'd recommend this place, but I'd probably suggest another hotel.
