I’ve been here five times for work, and the quiet, safe location is a real plus. My commute is only a few minutes, and the shopping center across the street has several places to eat within walking distance. Michael’s deserves a shout-out for great food and service. The staff are good too, though there isn’t much interaction beyond check-in. Breakfast is free, with fruit, oatmeal, hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage, and a rotating extra like Belgian waffles or English muffin breakfast sandwiches. My workmates don’t seem as keen on it. What keeps bothering me is the condition of the rooms. This is a newer, modern hotel, but every room I’ve stayed in has had disgusting greasy marks on the textured wallpaper. The once-beautiful Westend couches are filthy, and the carpet feels sticky. I won’t walk barefoot anymore. It’s been the same on every stay. The hotel is otherwise beautiful, and I know guest behavior may be part of the problem, but at these prices I’d expect some of these gross issues to be fixed or replaced.
