Extended Stay America Suites Cleveland Middleburg Heights

Wi-Fi barely worked in our room. I could connect in the hallway, but it kept dropping once I went inside. After I called the support company, Velocity, they said the facility had a known issue and they were working on a future fix. They couldn't say when that might happen. The stove dial was melted and its temperature markings ran in reverse, and the kitchen backsplash was about an inch away from the wall. We found several problems after unpacking during our three day stay, which we later extended by a day because of a winter storm. Check-in with the pleasant gentleman was fine, and the room initially looked clean and orderly. The phone had no dial tone, although I checked it was plugged in. In the ADA bathroom, my wife moved the shower curtain and a plastic vertical grab bar to the front left of the shower fell down, exposing a lower bracket with sharp edges. I went to the front desk because the phone didn't work and reported it. After we returned from a show, someone had left screws and brackets on the sink and snapped the plastic cover back on, but hadn't installed a proper grab bar. I reported all of these issues to the desk. I hope they're repaired. This could be a nice place if maintenance and care of the room were kept up.

We were welcomed warmly, and the staff were friendly throughout our five weeks there while my husband was sent to the area for work. They never questioned my service animal. The rooms were up to date and they supplied dishes for cooking. The parking lot was spotless too. It was one of the cleanest hotels we've stayed in: no bugs, no noise, and definitely no shady activity. Some of the reviews I've seen make me sick.

The location is great and the staff were nice. It was fine for the price, but honestly felt run down, with rooms that haven't been updated since the 80s. It also seemed like some people lived there. I'm not sure I'd stay again.

I checked in, saw the room, and immediately tried to get a refund because I was disgusted by the smell in both the room and hallway. It was the worst hotel I've ever booked. The good reviews are lies, and they're scamming everyone. I'm definitely going to report them.
