Stay At Lincoln

We couldn’t stay because we had serious health and safety concerns. The room had poor ventilation and we couldn’t breathe properly, but we were told not to open the window. We also found a lizard inside. The bed was too small, and the mattress was in very poor condition. We didn’t sleep at all. This environment didn’t feel safe, especially with a child.

The night was still enjoyable because my friends and I had a blast together, and the place was organized. But the room didn’t seem especially clean, except for the bathrooms. The bed covers had stains, and the old spring mattresses had foam toppers on them. The living room rug was also a hazard. Its corners curled up, it wasn’t held in place with pads, and we tripped on it several times. The stairway to our unit was completely dark, with no lights at all. Inside, it was hot and stuffy even though the HVAC was on. I checked the vents and found a filthy air filter so clogged that air couldn’t get through. We took it out so the place would cool down enough to sleep and relax. We figured recirculating our own breath was better than breathing whatever was on that filter. We checked the fridge filter before using the ice or cold water. It was black, so we had no water to drink except from the sink faucet. The dining table light was another safety issue. I’m 5'7, and the star-shaped fixture hung low enough to hit my shoulder. It was in the walkway between the kitchen and living room. With the murphy bed down, the passage was narrow, and we had to watch our foreheads around its 12 bulbs.

This property was very average and highly priced for the dates we stayed. We were in apartment #5, where the linen was limited and the furniture really needs replacing. The AC was noisy, and the doors didn’t work properly. The property needs to be redone. Continuing to let it out as it is doesn’t seem advisable.

It's close to local shops and convenient, but it needs some updating. Even something simple, like new pillows for the chairs, would help. It wasn’t on par with other air bnbs I’ve visited.
