We didn’t stay at the establishment, but we did get to enjoy the Tavern’s four-course meal. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us wonderfully. The manager on duty offered to move us to a table closer to the beautiful fireplace. The whole dinner service was hospitable, they took photos for us, and explained the dining choices really well. My fiance and I were struck by how cozy and comforting the atmosphere felt. The food was delicious and filling. I ordered duck and my fiance had the crispy rabbit. We were smiling at each other after every bite. The staff congratulated us and made dinner special. We’ll definitely visit again when we’re in the area.

The $500 fixed-price menu was awful value for us. The first course was one tasteless meatball, then strange bland cheese with roasted grapes, followed by overcooked char on slimy vegetables and a blah dessert. Two of us ordered two-course meals and had similar reactions. The only good dish was an a la carte serving of Brussels sprouts, which was generous. Service was poor too. Nobody refilled our water, so my friend shared his when we couldn’t find staff. Coffee arrived late, a bar drink we ordered later came first, and the takeout box for leftovers never showed up. Staff kept reaching over us, even to replace cutlery we hadn’t used for an earlier course. I’d have been happier eating across the street. They say reservations are needed, but the room we were in had just us and another couple that night. Update: A manager contacted me. We had a good conversation, and it made me feel better about the experience.

Maria made our evening at the Pub especially nice. We stopped in for a light dinner and settled at the cozy bar, where she gave us great food suggestions and knew a lot about the drinks. Her charming personality turned a pleasant night into a wonderful one. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we told her we’d be back later this week. Ask for Maria☺️

We tried the four-course dinner for the first time on Christmas Eve and loved it. The building is thoughtfully designed to fit the town’s fox and equestrian aesthetic, and the cozy dining rooms were warmed by fireplaces. Service was excellent, with each delicious dish perfectly portioned and timed between courses. The cornbread was phenomenal, chef’s kiss. Highly recommend for a special meal 🦊

This was our third time dining here, and it’s seriously perfect every time. We rang in the new year upstairs in the main dining room, where the fireplace and Christmas decorations made it feel cozy. Maria was a great waitress, answered all our questions, and had helpful recommendations. I photographed almost every dish, then forgot about dessert and ate it before getting a picture. Oops!
