We brought our 10-month-old, and the staff made things easy by setting up a pack and play in the room and a high chair for breakfast. One of the owners, Matthew, was friendly and told us about the art throughout the inn. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms nice. Breakfast is delicious, and Jessica’s is so good. The bar has a great old-school feel too. This was our second stay at Swift House, and it’s always a wonderful experience. We highly recommend it and will be back.

This is our favorite of all the Inn to Inn locations. The accommodations and fine dining went beyond what we expected. I also left some fine jewelry in my room, and the housekeeping staff kindly brought it to the front desk so management could return it to us right away when we asked. I’m very grateful for the honesty, integrity, and professionalism of everyone there. I highly recommend making this a destination.

We’ve stayed at Swift House Inn twice, once in a smaller room in the main Lodge and once in a somewhat larger room where the restaurant is. We enjoyed both visits and will look to stay there again when we’re in Middlebury. The breakfast included with the stay is phenomenal, with as much food as you want and whatever you want. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Bager was an amazing server who looked after us each day and made us feel at home while we were away.

I stayed several times over the summer and had a great experience on every visit. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the restaurant is excellent, and the staff are gracious and remember your preferences. On my second restaurant visit, a few weeks after the first, the server remembered a small preference I’d mentioned and handled it without me asking. Those kinds of thoughtful details were common and made me feel welcome. I also shared one minor suggestion and the owner quickly thanked me for it. It’s a comfortable, low-key place with lovely design.

Swift House Inn is beautiful, exceptionally well maintained, and nicely appointed, with wonderful staff and a central Middlebury location. Our problem was the Alexander Twilight room, which faces the highway. It’s perhaps 20-50 yards away, and we heard semis and snow plows through most of both nights. It got quieter from about 2 am to 5 am, but otherwise it was loud. I tried sleeping with AirPods, but they weren’t comfortable for that. Neither my husband nor I are light sleepers, yet we were both miserable. I highly recommend the inn, just not that room unless you can sleep through anything.
