The breakfast basket delivered to our room on the first morning was delicious, and we appreciated having drinks and snacks in the common room. Our room was clean and comfortable, with lovely views of town and the mountains. The inn has so much historic character, from the wide hardwood floors and grand staircase to the ornate fixtures and other charming details. We loved our stay and would happily come back.

We booked a stay as a Mother’s Day treat for my wife, bringing our two daughters along. Brenda and her husband Bruce welcomed us warmly, and you could tell how much care they put into the little details, from the cleanliness to the quality of breakfast. It was the best place I’ve stayed with my family. The room was very affordable for the level of comfort and service, even though we’re not wealthy. I don’t write reviews often, but this one was deserved. I’ll recommend the Inn on the Green to anyone who’ll listen, and we’ll be back.

We’ve stayed twice, once in the main house and once in the carriage house, and both rooms were clean, comfortable, and equipped just as the website described. The breakfast and nightly turndown were nice extras. Bruce, Brenda, and the whole staff were kind and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They also shared sightseeing ideas, directions, and good conversation about the area. It’s an ideal spot for walking downtown, and we’d stay again when we’re nearby.

I loved the little Vermont touches in my room, including Lake Champlain chocolates and a small bottle of maple syrup. The hotel is in a great spot, just a short walk from downtown and campus, and the staff were quick to help. Self check-in was especially nice since I didn’t have to see anyone during my stay, which helped me feel safe COVID-wise. Absolutely lovely place in Middlebury, and I highly recommend it.

The croissants at breakfast were the best I’ve ever had, and I think they came from a local bakery. Breakfast was brought to my room each morning, and there was evening turndown service too. I’d planned on two nights but missed the first because of a flight connection. The one-star deduction is for a rare hot water problem one morning that left me taking a cold shower. The place isn’t great for watching TV, and I’d much prefer a full-size ironing board to trying to press a man’s dress shirt on a travel one placed on the bed. Still, I had a good stay, and locals say wonderful things about the place.
