The room was clean, spacious, and nice, but the problems kept piling up. In the replacement room, the power went out repeatedly, the remote controlled blinds wouldn’t work, and there was no coffee maker. Even the lobby coffee station was missing basics like lids. My first room had a broken refrigerator and microwave. I was told the hotel was full and offered only a room with twin beds. After speaking with a manager and mentioning my IHG status, I was moved and given 1,000 points. Compensation wasn’t my concern, though. I wanted proper customer service. The repeated issues made the stay disappointing and left me with a worse impression of the IHG brand.

The inside was clean and looked well cared for, with spotless beds and really sweet housekeepers. The smell some reviews mention is outside, and that scent is across the whole city. It’s close to the interstate entrance, which makes it easy to get around town, and there’s plenty of food and a Walmart nearby.

The parking was well lit and felt safe, and the common areas were spotless. As a solo traveler, I felt secure throughout my one-night stop at the avid hotel by IHG in Midland, TX, while driving back to the West Coast. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and well stocked, a nice way to start the day. Elaine, the front desk manager and host, welcomed me warmly and made check-in easy. He set me up in a spotless, comfortable room. Everything felt modern and fresh, and the technology was convenient to use. I appreciated having clearly labeled soft and firm pillows, just like in the photos. The bed was comfortable, the linens crisp, and the room had no odors. I’m an IHG Diamond member and have stayed at many of their properties. This was one of my best stays, and another reason I’m loyal to IHG. The cleanliness, hospitality, and attention to detail stood out. Thanks to Elaine and the whole team for making it pleasant and memorable. I highly recommend this property.

I spent six nights here, and the rooms consistently smelled awful. The power went out once and an employee had to flip a breaker to restore it. The bathroom outlet didn’t work, and I couldn’t open or close the window shades. When I went to check out this morning, the front desk employee was asleep on the couch under a blanket. Stay somewhere else if you can.
