Four Points by Sheraton Midland

Abby is always a pleasure to deal with, and her personality makes the stay enjoyable after long workdays. The rooms are a good size and always feel clean and fresh. It’s also close to the airport and some places to eat.

The staff were really friendly and professional, but the rooms could have been cleaner. I was put in a pet-friendly room without being told or given a choice, and it smelled awful. A colleague traveling with me had a similar room experience. Not my best Marriott stay.

Suite 409 was supposed to have a full kitchen, but it was a joke. There were no paper towels, soap, dishwasher detergent, or bags in the trash cans. When I arrived to make a meal, the only silverware I found was one used fork. I told the woman downstairs, and she wrote a note about cleaning the remote. The bed was made the next day, but the same dirty fork was still there. I spoke with the bartender and someone who said they were a manager, asking for the room to be sorted out, and ended up borrowing silverware from the restaurant. The following day it was still the same: a made bed and that one dirty fork. The “manager” even took a picture of the photo I had uploaded on my phone. If people rent a room with a kitchen, you'd think they'd be able to use it.

They used up all my points after telling me I could check in early. Once I arrived, they refused to let me check in and said I had to wait another four hours just for a chance at a room. I offered to pay for the previous night and roll it into the current day, but they refused for no reason I could see. The hotel was empty. You'd expect more hospitality from a place in that business, especially out in the middle of nowhere in Texas.
