Wyndham Midland Downtown

Everything else went very well, and the staff were immaculate. They’re great people who care about their work and customers, and I hope I get a reason to come back. The room was huge, clean, and smelled good. My only issue was that there wasn’t a refrigerator. I had medication that needed to be kept cold, so I would’ve been in trouble without another way to refrigerate it. Thanks for a great stay.

The hotel was way overhyped and overpriced for what we got. The room was barely average in size, with a tiny bathroom, despite claims of large rooms and spacious bathrooms. The advertised fridge and microwave weren’t there. The website also listed an on-site restaurant and two bars, but they were all closed. They said there’d be a $15 breakfast buffet in the morning, but that wasn’t available either. Had I known how crappy the place was, I would’ve suggested my husband and I stay at LA Quinta instead. LA Quinta has nicer rooms and bathrooms and actually offers a free full breakfast. Don’t stay here, find another hotel in Midland.

The room was clean and already cold when we walked in, which we liked. The shower had two heads facing each other, so you can clean your front and back at the same time! The hotel was nice and close to where we needed to go. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the layout was odd, with elevators in several disconnected spots serving different areas. Parking wasn’t clear either, though we eventually found the garage. Overall, a good experience.

The bathrooms had mold along the walls, and the toothpaste was still in the sink. Shampoo and body soap weren’t replaced, just refilled. In the south lobby, when I got off the elevator, I saw someone who looked like a homeless person asleep in a chair, or possibly someone just released from jail. This was once an elegant, great place to stay, but since Wyndham took over, it’s gone downhill. Such a waste.
