Royal Inn

My family and I only needed somewhere to sleep after a medical emergency. We'd been at the hospital since 3 in the morning the previous night, so despite the smell of piss in the hallway and atrium, we went straight to bed out of desperation. The beds were stiff as cardboard, and the covers had strange stains that looked as if they'd been spot-cleaned with acid. In the morning I noticed more stains on the carpet, including a large white, crusty one by the nightstand that I hoped was vomit, and beside it a partly cleaned mark that looked like blood. I'm fairly certain someone had been killed in the room and dragged out. Neighbors screamed all night about killing each other, and someone upstairs stomped all night too. The female receptionist tried to extort us for another 100$ deposit on top of the 80$ room fee. I'm considering reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and urge others to do the same. This is a very seedy hotel even for a budget place. Go to the Holiday inn or any truck stop hotel instead, they'll be 100 times cleaner.

We left and don't plan to come back. My partner and I booked this at the last minute, and the nasty smell and unfriendly woman at the counter made us suspicious as soon as we entered. After we changed for dinner, a man watched us from the end of the hall until we got into our room. He seemed very suspicious, so we took our bags with us rather than leave them behind. When we returned with everything, our room door was standing wide open. We were glad our belongings were with us. The same man was still roaming the halls, so we left. Horrible place. Don't book here.

The only issue was that the TV remote didn't work when I first turned on the TV. The manager was happy to put in a new battery, and then it worked. Otherwise, I had no complaints.

Workers were remodeling and slamming doors, and they were hammering at 7:45pm. I called the office, and they said it would be another 5 minutes. Why do construction with guests staying in the rooms? The rooms aren't great either. Some doorknobs are missing, and others don't fit the door jams. There are smells.
