Motel 6 Milan, OH - Sandusky

There’s no breakfast, just coffee and tea. I’d pick another hotel on this road. Housekeepers knocked early almost every day to ask if we needed towels, kept knocking until we answered, and walked in without hesitation. They have no do not disturb signs, and this happened to me multiple times. The employees weren’t great either. My room had only two outlets, and one was so loose the cord kept falling out. The hallways smelled strongly of dog, and there was dog poop all over outside by the pool. People smoked in non-smoking rooms. I thought my room even had dog poop smeared on the floor. Police were called three times because a man was so drunk he was going to kill himself. There are several hotels along this road, so don’t choose this one.

We’d stayed at this location a few times on road trips because it’s roughly halfway between home and some family. We know Motel 6 and are used to a cheap, no-frills motel. After our visit last week, though, we won’t be back. I woke up with at least a dozen bites that swelled until they ran together into big, itchy patches. A few days later I was maid of honor at a wedding, and had to color correct the bites as well as my face while putting on makeup.

The staff were hospitable, and for the price it was good. It could’ve been a little cleaner, and the water pressure wasn’t great, but otherwise I had no complaints. I didn’t see any bugs or get bitten, which was a big plus.

The staff are friendly and go out of their way to give good service. We’ve stayed here multiple times and really like that. The room looked clean, though there was dog hair left on the bed’s baseboard, which put us off. Dogs whining and barking through the night made it hard to sleep. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.
