Fairbridge Inn & Suites Miles City

It may be an older hotel, but it’s one of the best places to spend the night. I’d call it affordable luxury. The owners clearly put a lot of heart and effort into keeping it up, and breakfast was awesome too.

Margery Mottern, the General Manager, really came through when my TV wasn’t working properly. She was swamped, but had a replacement installed within 15 minutes of my asking and checked herself that it worked. That kind of service makes you feel you picked the right place. The room was quiet and fairly clean, with the basics like a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. A good value for a moderately priced stay.

Easy to reach from I-94, with gas stations and restaurants nearby, but this older, well-used hotel needs some work. Our room was clean, though the carpet was stained. The pillows were so flat that even three on each bed felt like none, and they need replacing. The shower also needs attention: the hot water ran out quickly, you had to hold the lever up to get water from the showerhead, and it screamed the whole time.

For the price, this was a very good value. The beds were nice, the food was pretty good, and the front desk was pleasant. Don’t let people put you off staying here.
