We’ve made several trips to D’s camp over the past decade, and it’s handy having trails to the north and south. We checked the groomer tracker to help choose where to ride based on which clubs had groomed. The Cabin Suite had three bedrooms with six beds, plus two bathrooms, and the kitchen was nicely stocked. One day we rode a loop south to Sidnaw station for lunch. When the trails were too warm to groom another day, we took logging roads through the state forest and had lunch in south range. On our last day, we got out early and were the first tracks on the trail groomed the night before, heading up to copper harbor.

I can't figure out why this place is rated so highly. The rooms are spacious, but they felt dirty, worn out, and very dated. It was easily the worst part of our trip to the UP.

The area is beautiful, with Houghton less than 20 minutes away and Agate Beach a short drive. Our cabin had plenty of sleeping space, and having two bathrooms was really convenient. There was lots of hot water, and the kitchen had the basics for making full meals. Heat and window air conditioners were available if needed. The owners are awesome.

Don and Donna are kind, and booking and checking in and out were refreshingly hassle-free. My family and I love staying here, this was our third time renting a cabin. They’re clean and cozy, with kitchen utensils and other conveniences well stocked. Being right off a highway also makes it easy to get around the area. We’ll be back next year!

It’s a decent place to stay, in a remote spot between Houghton and Agate Beach, handy if you’re out looking for yooperlites. There’s some road noise through the night since it’s right by the road. The owners and I barely interacted, which is how I prefer it. Dogs aren’t allowed.
