Residence Inn by Marriott San Francisco Airport Millbrae Station

The Millbrae BART/Caltrain station is right next door, so I didn't need an Uber or Lyft during my early January 2026 stay. That weekend was MLK weekend and the Twice (K-Pop girl group) concert at Oakland Arena. I went to the Sunday second night show, and on Saturday I took Caltrain to and from work at Chase Center, where I was working a Warriors game. I only learned after checking out that the Oakland Arena staff would let me bring in the water bottle Residence Inn had given me, as long as it was empty. Thanks, Residence Inn, for letting me bring it along to enjoy the Twice concert across the bay.

Getting to the airport was easy, just about a 3-minute drive as advertised, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast had a decent range of options, and staff were professional. Check-in and checkout went smoothly. A few small things bothered me: there was no bidet, no complimentary slippers, and I spotted a tiny dark brown stain on the sheets. Despite those details, the large room and location were good value. I'd likely stay again for quick airport access, and fixing these small issues would make it a five-star experience.

1 star. I decided to move to Hilton instead of asking to stay another night here. When I checked online, rooms were still available, including the exact type I already had. But when I asked the front desk receptionist about extending, she said right away that the hotel was sold out without checking the computer. Two employees were having what seemed like a personal conversation at the desk, so I didn't push the matter. Poor service and dishonesty are an easy way to lose a repeat guest.

The room was nice, but sound carries right through the thin walls and floors. Construction continued during the day until 4pm, and nobody mentioned it until check-in. A kid on the floor above ran around all day and night. I could also hear adults walking to the bathroom and the elevator ding.
