The Westin San Francisco Airport

For a short stay near the airport, this hotel was really convenient. I was there for one night, and the free shuttle runs every 10 minutes, so there’s no need for a cab to or from SFO. There’s a Starbucks and a restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant had fairly priced, nice dishes. My salad was tasty, very large, and about $24. Breakfast comes either continental or a la carte. I had the continental option, with a good selection of bagels, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, and more. The restaurant staff were super friendly. My room was clean and in good condition, with useful power outlets, a nice bed, TV, and a functional bathroom. The gym had a good range of cardio and other equipment, and there was even an indoor pool. A nice place to stay when you need to be close to the airport.

The staff have been friendly, professional, and helpful every time I’ve stayed, especially Nicole. Check in is smooth, requests get handled quickly, and the service keeps things calm and dependable, which I appreciate during busy conference weeks. I’ve returned regularly over the years, mostly for the JP Morgan Conference, because this is a reliable alternative to the very expensive hotels downtown. The rooms are clean, quiet, and solid. The airport is close, and the shuttle to the International Terminal comes about every 15 minutes. For the Domestic Terminal, an Uber is better, though the shuttle works well if you go via the International Terminal. Starbucks in the hotel opens at 5 am, useful for early starts, and the on site restaurant is decent and dependable. The area is pleasant, clean, safe, and suitable for walking, with other hotels nearby offering more dining choices. Burlingame is about a ten minute drive away for restaurants and shops. Downtown San Francisco takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. It’s a practical location for business travel with good infrastructure.

We didn’t stay long, and I was so tired I fell asleep almost right away. Still, I wonder if the planes coming in and out would have kept me awake. The walls and windows didn’t seem soundproof, since we could hear planes outside and doors slamming in the hall. The rooms and common areas were much like other Westins, clean and comfortable, fine for a commercial stay. The free airport shuttle was handy for avoiding a walk at 5 am.

The San Francisco Bay Trail is easy to reach right outside, which was my favorite part of this comfortable, smooth stopover at The Westin San Francisco Airport. I only stayed a few hours while transiting through SFO, and the location was great. The free airport shuttle comes every 10 minutes, and having Starbucks in the hotel was nice too.
