The carpet is old, the place smells as bad as it looks, and the rooms don't seem to get cleaned. It's amazing this place hasn't been shut down. It's not pet friendly, and there's a 200 deposit plus 20 per day. No breakfast, no pool, and no chance I'll ever go back. No wonder they don't have any real painters of their rooms. The interesting clothes.
The lights worked, the water got hot, and I made it through the night. That's something, I guess. But the deadbolt turned all the way around like a fidget spinner, with zero resistance and no real function, even though a safety notice told guests to use it and the security latch. The cracked popcorn ceiling was shedding bits that I thought might be asbestos from around 1972. The walls had that 1990s landlord-special look, cobwebs, and dust that seemed vintage enough to collect. Stains covered every surface, and one wall looked melted. I started inventing crime theories just to make sense of all the different stains and marks, then ended the night wanting to shower in hand sanitizer. I was there for one night as a last resort, after every other hotel was booked and sleeping in my car sounded like a spa retreat. I'd only stay again if the apocalypse took out every Airbnb, hotel, and couch in the county.
The bathroom wasn't fully clean and needs more attention. The nighttime attendant had very poor customer service. In the morning I showed him their page saying free continental breakfast was offered, and told him they should remove it because it was false advertising. He still argued that it wasn't there, even though he read it on my phone.
The front desk was pleasant when I checked in, and the room was at least a place to shower and sleep. The location is average, with several hotels along Milledgeville's main strip and other options just a few blocks away. The rooms are dated. I know the hotel is old, but the yellow and 1970s orange-red curtains and bed covers looked pretty rough.
The owner was rude and disrespectful to my family while we rented a room, though his wife was sweet. The room wasn't the cleanest when we arrived, and there was an outlet with visible water and electrical damage near the sink and blow dryer. The location is the only good thing about this motel. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else unless this is your last option.
