Robin Hood Motel

There’s coffee in the office each morning, and out back you’ll find a screened gazebo with plenty of chairs and a fire pit, all tucked among the trees. Clint, the manager, is great, and the clean rooms stay cool even in this heat. All in all, Robinhood motel is wonderful.

No wifi, and it took nearly four minutes for the hot water to come through. The room smelled bad, the window blinds were missing, and there was no smoke detector, just wires. The person next door stood in his doorway smoking despite being in a non-smoking room. The manager was about as friendly as a prison guard. Terrible stay.

We stayed one night while heading to Colorado, and I loved the vintage look. Best of all, the place was spotless, which matters a lot to me in a hotel. My boys had a great time in the heated pool. We’ll come back next time we’re in Raton. We also had a great breakfast down the street at Oasis Restaurant, the diner attached to another vintage motel.

We’ve stayed here twice and would come back again. It’s a great value, the staff are very nice, and the room was clean and cute. I could have used both shampoo and conditioner, but that wasn’t a big deal. The real trouble was the neighbors slamming their door into the early morning, which made it hard to sleep. I know that wasn’t the staff’s fault, but it would be nice if the doors made less noise when opening and closing.
