DoubleTree by Hilton Milwaukee Downtown

The room's air system stayed noisy and ineffective all night. Every twenty minutes or so it sounded like a small jet engine starting up, loud enough to wake me repeatedly, but it did nothing to fix the temperature. The room swung between sauna-like heat and a lukewarm breeze, and sleeping was nearly impossible as I kept throwing off and pulling back the blankets. The thermostat on the wall might as well have been decorative. I lowered it and waited, then turned it way down, but the room stayed sweltering and nothing changed. After a long day of travel, I expected to sleep comfortably. Instead, the unresponsive controls, heat, and constant noise made the whole stay frustrating. The room's most memorable feature was that useless thermostat, which overshadowed everything else. A room should let guests control its temperature, and without that, I can't really recommend this hotel.

I accidentally left my portfolio on the counter, and the staff returned it safely with everything still inside. That honesty and care really stood out. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and everyone made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I had one of my best hotel stays at the DoubleTree Downtown Milwaukee. The service and trustworthy staff made it a top-notch experience, and I'll absolutely stay there again next time I'm in the city.

Meri made check-in easy, and manager Daniel checked in periodically to see if I needed anything. The wait staff at the Avenue Bar & Grill were just as good. I travel often and haven't been this impressed by a hotel's staff and service before. Every employee I met went out of their way to help make my three-night stay memorable. The hotel is centrally located, within a short walk of downtown, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in Milwaukee.

I was in Milwaukee for a business trip when sudden, severe back pain left me mostly unable to function. The hotel staff, especially Daniel at the front desk, showed real concern and gave me excellent care. I appreciated their kindness a lot. The hotel is well appointed and sits in a lively part of downtown, but the people working there are what made it special.
