Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Airport

The plane noise woke me before 6 a.m., even with earplugs. This airport hotel seems to think being close to the airport is enough, despite the lack of sound insulation. Management can skip the usual platitudes about making things right. Unless every room is soundproofed against the noise, don’t bother apologizing. The standard “come back and give us another try” is an insult. Sure, after wasting money here once, I should come back and waste more.

The inside of the hotel is beautiful, the restaurant food was very good, and the service was fantastic. I was greeted and treated like a movie star. But a leak under the bathroom sink and the slow heating made things uncomfortable. They fixed the plumbing promptly, but the heat didn’t come up for many hours, so I was cold until the middle of the night. I’d checked in close to 3 p.m. I think the plumbing and heating need upgrades.

Shaun at the front desk was really kind and helpful, and the service made our stay before a trip especially nice. The location was convenient, and our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed staying here.

The staff are solid, friendly and hardworking, but they’re stuck handling complaints and apologizing for choices they didn’t make. Raymond Management Company makes the cuts, and the staff are left with the fallout, trying to protect a reputation that corporate leadership is actively damaging. Removing the hot tub at the Hilton Garden Inn says a lot about the decline in standards. Guests used and enjoyed it, and it was part of what made the place memorable. Taking it away in the name of short-term savings sends a clear message that comfort and loyalty don’t matter. The hotel used to feel thoughtfully run; now it feels like a hollowed-out version of itself. There’s no replacement, no upgrade, just less. This wasn’t innovation or modernization. It was a lazy, tone-deaf step backward. If this is the direction Raymond Management Company wants to take hospitality, they’re slowly dismantling their properties. A place people once chose is becoming one they tolerate. “We apologize for the inconvenience” isn’t an apology. It’s deflection dressed up in buzzwords, avoiding the fact that someone made a bad decision. If no one will own being wrong, spare us the corporate noise.
