The location was very convenient, especially for seeing the Brewers, and the property was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was well stocked and looked after too. But what the staff did when I got extremely sick on a solo business trip is what I'll remember. I called the front desk because I was too ill to travel, and they gave me a late checkout so I could make a new plan. They called back to see whether I needed water, soda, or anything from the store, then brought it to my room since I couldn't get out. When I asked about nearby urgent care, they found a close one and even provided my basic information so I was in the system before I arrived. I'm sincerely grateful for their help and the peace of mind it gave me. Lord willing, no one else has to go through that, but I hope to return and explore the city once I'm feeling better. I won't consider staying anywhere else. They've got a loyal fan for life.
The location worked well for us as residents of the Madison area, not too far into Milwaukee and close enough for an easy Uber ride to The Rave. There was plenty of parking, and a McDonald's on the same block. Darrin and I stayed for New Year's and saw Sullivan King perform at The Rave. It was a memorable show, and we'd certainly consider coming back. We paid about $160 for the night, which felt reasonable. The room was modern and very clean, with a comfortable sitting area and a large TV, plus a separate sleeping area with another large TV. The corner cabinet held a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The bathroom was charming, with a nice walk-in shower, though the water pressure was a bit weak. I liked the nature-themed window shade, even if there wasn't much of a view. Housekeeping woke us at 9:00 AM despite the 11:00 AM checkout, but we hadn't put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign. The staff were otherwise consistently friendly. The pillows weren't great, though that's common in a lot of places. I hope this is helpful along with the photos.
I wasn't going to post this, but then I heard another woman in the building had the same problem. That's really unfortunate. Staff asked me for my service animal's certification, even though I believe they can only lawfully ask two questions: "Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?" and "What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?" Do better, know the laws, and train your employees.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern, clean, and in good repair, and there are fast food places within a couple of blocks. A nice place.
The woman who called us to change rooms was extremely rude, and she was just as bad when we got there. I talked with the manager, who handled things, but that front desk woman needs a job where she doesn't talk to customers. We had checked in late, and the girl at check-in was nice and got us settled quickly. In the room, the AC sounded horrible when we turned it on, but we were tired and decided to deal with it in the morning. Later, when we went to use the toilet for the first time, we found it wasn't bolted to the floor. In the morning we asked about switching rooms. They said they were booked but would fix ours, so we went out for the day. Then we got a call demanding that we come back and move right then. We dropped what we were doing to go back and change rooms.
