Renee was easy and quick to reach while we arranged the booking, and she checked in after our first night to see how things were and whether we needed anything. We were lucky the Brooks Suite had availability for our 25th wedding anniversary weekend after our usual B&B outside town had to cancel due to a slab leak. The house dates to 1900 and has plenty of historic charm, from its wood floors and architectural details to the original claw-foot bathtub. It’s an eight-minute walk to historic downtown Mineola. A lovely place to stay.

The room was great, but the train right next door ran every two hours on Sunday morning starting at 2am. The horn was really loud. Double-pane windows might help. I know it isn’t the owners’ fault, but the noise is a downside.

The contactless entry made getting in easy, and the room was clean, comfortable, and had what we needed for a short visit. This cute little bed and bath felt like a real find. We’ll stay here again when we’re in the area.

It has a warm, cozy feel and seems very safe, with a real step-back-in-time atmosphere. Vic has thought of everything. Great place to stay, and make sure you have breakfast at Cafe U.

Really nice hosts, and booking through Airbnb was easy. There’s coffee and food nearby, and since it’s just outside downtown, getting in and out is easier. I’d definitely stay here again.
