Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Carrollton

I found a small blood spot on the underside of a pillow and asked to change rooms. The next day I was charged $112 and told the stain was mine, since staff supposedly wouldn’t have missed it. I had photos and called to sort it out, but the manager brushed me off with “it is what it is.” She said she had pictures too, then couldn’t find them. She also said the blood reached the mattress, though my photos show only a small, barely visible spot. It felt like I was charged because I complained. The manager was spiteful and terrible about it. Disgusting and immature. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The small breakfast area had eggs, sausage, and mini waffles, with enough choice for me. The TV in the lobby faces the little bar seating, so it’s harder to see from the side seats. Staff were friendly, the motel was clean, and it had the usual amenities. I couldn’t get a late checkout unless I paid extra. My shower was adjustable because I was given a handicap room, but it didn’t go high enough for a tall person, since it’s set up for someone sitting in a shower chair. I could also hear the guy in the next room talking, so the room wasn’t very soundproof. Still, it was a great stay.

On my first night, the first thing I noticed on the way to my room was all the trash in the hallway. The hotel was pretty good otherwise.

The location and staff weren’t really my complaint, but it felt like a take-what-you-get situation. Other guests were incredibly rude, slamming doors all night without considering anyone else. I complained repeatedly, and people seemed tired of hearing about it, but nothing changed. When companies book rooms for their workers, they should put them together to cut down on the drama. The front desk can ask guests to quiet down, but that seemed to make them act even more childish and spiteful. Definitely not a good stay.
