The historic building dates back to 1857, and its rooms have a lot of character. My wife and I spent a romantic, relaxing evening here in Mineral Point, with restaurants and art galleries an easy walk away. A lovely choice for a weekend with your honey.

We were supposed to stay for a night near the end of June, expecting a charming bed and breakfast downtown. Instead, the whole area was torn up and closed to cars and pedestrians, including the way to the front door. Nobody at the property warned us. After Expedia contacted them, we heard there was a gap in a fence behind the building where guests could haul their bags through. There was also a large For Sale sign on the front door. The construction itself wasn't the property's fault, but they should have told guests what to expect. After an already long day of driving, we chose to drive the hours back home instead of figuring out how to get in. Very disappointing.

Everyone in Mineral Point made us feel welcome, even though it was our first visit and we were strangers in a town of only about 2,400 people. Of all the places I've been in the US, this felt like the kindest town. 23 Steps Inn was wonderful too, with an extremely welcoming and kind staff. We had a fantastic time. Stay at the Inn and get food at the Deli downstairs when you're in town.

We had such a relaxing stay. The owners were accommodating, the people were nice, and the rooms were beautiful. It's right on the town's main street.

The room had a lot of character and was very nice, though a bit rough around the edges. There was gum stuck on the bedside table, and the blanket on the bed was stained.
