The maintenance guy was great, a very nice man, and we had to ask for towels too. Breakfast was terrible, with barely anything to choose from. I asked days ahead if we could check in early, but we still had to wait until almost 4 PM for a room. The TV didn't work, though we'd said we wanted a different room if it couldn't be fixed, and that never happened. They gave us a rollaway for our son without sheets or blankets, and it smelled horrible. He refused to sleep on it. I wish I'd booked somewhere else. The owner refused a discount or refund, offering a discount for a future stay instead. Sorry, bro, we're never coming back. Not worth it. Live and learn.

We stay here for every baseball tournament and always enjoy it. The service is great and breakfast is good. This year management found my son's stuffed animal in the bed after we left and mailed it to me. He's always going to be grateful to have his favorite toy back.

Mold in the rooms and bedding that apparently isn't changed between guests were concerns I raised, but they were dismissed instead of resolved. Issues weren't handled promptly or respectfully, and communication was unclear. Management was defensive and unhelpful rather than taking accountability, so it felt like guest satisfaction wasn't a priority. I dealt directly with Jennifer and Joe, who were running the Red Lion Hotel during my stay. I expected basic hospitality and customer service, and didn't get it. Very disappointing. I won't recommend this location or return.

The front desk was very helpful, and the lobby is clean and inviting. My room was a different story. The carpet was stained, grout in the bathroom was torn up, and there were nasty splatters around the room. The sheets seemed clean at first, but had stains all over them, and the towels were very poor quality. I'm not sure what the splatters were, but it didn't look like anything had been wiped down very well.

I've been driving trucks longer than some folks have been alive, and these days I run hot shots. I stopped in Mineral Wells at the Red Lion to do laundry and get a decent night's sleep. The lobby was packed with middle-aged couples, travel partners, and people coming and going, so I figured it might be a mess. It wasn't. Mikelyn, the young woman at the front desk, had the whole lobby in hand. She welcomed guests, laughed with them, and stayed cool as problems came up. I saw her sort out a reservation issue for one woman so well that she went from raising a fuss to being completely pleasant. Mikelyn also handled people needing towels, complaining about keys or rooms, and new arrivals, always calm, kind, and quick. When it was my turn, she greeted me with a smile, joked with me, and stayed professional. Later, when I came down for quarters to do laundry, she warned me the dryer could act up. She offered to dry my clothes if I brought them down, then did it and delivered them to my room. You don't see that kind of customer service much anymore, especially from younger folks. Friendly, fast, and funny, Mikelyn kept things running smoothly and made an old road dog feel welcome. She deserves recognition. Y'all have my business for life.
