InterContinental Minneapolis - St. Paul Airport by IHG

I was mainly here to catch an early flight, with a bit of business along the way, and the airport access from the hotel’s fitness room area was useful for a carry-on traveler. The TSA bridge was closed during the shutdown. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve met in a while. They explained what to expect and were gracious when I asked what felt like dumb questions. The room was excellent. I slept well the first night, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the HVAC didn’t blast away unpredictably. The bathroom kept steam from fogging everything, and the bath sheets were so big and luxurious they could cover one extra-large person or a couple. I would’ve liked more water pressure, but I’ve been spoiled by wasteful hotels. The restaurant chef mixed up my order a bit, but it wasn’t a big deal. It gave me a reason not to eat everything, except for that yummy drop biscuit. Miria and the other lady were warm and welcoming.

Being connected to the airport is a big plus, and the hotel itself was great. The service at Bradstreet restaurant fell short, though, and our two-night stay came with no housekeeping. A paper slipped under the door said we had to request it manually by 3pm. I’d left for the day at 8am and didn’t get a chance to call.

The restaurant had great food and service, but the room situation was frustrating. As a platinum elite ambassador member, we were told they never upgrade guests who booked an accessible roll-in shower. We asked about a suite and were told they were all full, even though we’d checked online and seen suites with roll-in showers available. Also, avoid room 320. It shares a wall with the fitness center, and the weight drops make loud booms in the room at all hours. You can hear people on the treadmill, too. Otherwise, it’s a very nice hotel.

For an early flight, this location is really convenient. The jet bridge is open now, so you can get right to the airport, provided you’re traveling with a carry-on. The rooms are clean and always feel fresh. I enjoy staying here for the convenience.
