Roami at Century Plaza

The rooms seemed clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. This was a perfectly fine place to spend the night if you’re not looking for anything fancy. It’s toward the edge of downtown, but still walkable, or just a short Uber ride from wherever you need to go. My one odd complaint is the bathtub floor. It curves up so much that showering felt a little like trying to balance on a skateboard. Other than that, it worked well for us.

We booked through Costco and got a really good deal. Parking was $20 a night and easy to get in and out of. The place is clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the rooms are nicely equipped. Feels like a budget hotel dream.

The thin walls and noise from outside kept me awake most of the night, so sleeping was rough. Breakfast was a letdown too. I’m used to pork sausage at Holiday Inns, and the turkey sausage tasted bad. The potatoes were the best part, though the pancake machine was acting up at first. The staff were friendly, the location was convenient, and parking itself was easy. Checking in was awkward because there wasn’t a place to stop except on the street down the road. Still, it’s a decent overnight stop.

Our first Minneapolis visit got off to a terrible start when someone broke into my car less than seven hours after we arrived. I’d paid $300 for the stay, and the worker refunded the $21 parking charge, but it looks like they still aren’t sending back that $21 or my $50. The workers were really nice, and the rooms were lovely. Still, I was very disappointed.
