Sonder at SECOND + SECOND

The management is terrible and dishonest. The new team nickel-and-dimes residents and struggles with basic communication.

Second and Second is a great building in the North Loop. It sits away from the traffic and noise on Washington while still being close to everything. The apartments are solidly built, and I never heard noise through the walls from neighboring units. The management is very nice and responsive, and the building is kept extremely clean. It is on the pricey side, but I think it’s worth it.

Rachel, Whitney, and Jeff have been a pleasure to deal with. The building feels modern, with nice finishes, spacious layouts, and amenities that stand out. It’s in a desirable part of the neighborhood, with easy access to top restaurants and shops. The rooftop is the best in the North Loop.

Update 3/05/2021: We chose to buy out our lease and move elsewhere in the Northloop after several safety incidents and repeated problems with management communication and accountability. I raised safety concerns for more than five days and escalated them to higher management, but little was done to make the building or residents safer. Management says it is there to help, but many residents are unhappy with the accommodations, safety, communication, and value. Rachel was not pleasant to work with after the lease was signed. The pet-friendly areas led to a dark alley with garbage cans and no lighting. Displaced personnel were in the entryway for a week straight in the early mornings, and the 2nd+2nd community was not informed. I was very disappointed and would discourage people from choosing this location. Original: I’d give zero stars if I could. They weren’t accommodating, and they said the building was pet friendly with a designated space, but that didn’t match our experience. Staff didn’t seem to have our best interests in mind. The advertised price was lower than what we actually paid, with nickel-and-diming for everything. We had numerous managers in less than six months, and it’s no mystery why. Stay clear of anything greystar. I couldn’t wait for my lease to end in September ‘21.
