The pool was a nice temperature, and the area worked well for us, but the renovation experience was awful. Dust and noise kept starting on the floors we were moved to, even after staff said those floors wouldn't be getting sanded. We were moved three times in one week trying to get away from it. The breakfast was nice, but it closed as soon as breakfast hours ended. Leaving coffee, fruit, or a Danish out during the day would have been a kind way to make up for the disruption. It didn't feel like they understood or cared. They also didn't refill the toilet paper, so we had to ask. We won't be back after this. I felt some of the cost should have been refunded, but the hotel said we'd booked through another party, which wasn't true.

I wish I'd seen an honest review before arriving. The place is torn up right now, not just the lobby but the hallways and rooms too. I was shocked when I reached my floor, and they shouldn't be selling rooms in this condition. I had to scramble to find another hotel. They also couldn't, or wouldn't, give me any proof of cancellation or a refund. It seemed like construction was the reason. We'll see what happens.

The pillows came in different styles and were really comfortable, though I'd rate the beds around 7.5/10. Breakfast was amazing, with both bacon and sausage and plenty of other choices. Great location, and I'd definitely stay again.

Even with construction going on, this was one of the best places we've stayed. The service and care were impeccable. Breakfast was busy, but everything stayed hot and fresh and nothing ran out. The person running it was attentive and deserves five gold stars and a raise.

The front desk woman was kind and understanding, and the card charge was eventually canceled a week later. Still, the stay was a huge disappointment. We booked for Friday and Saturday, 8/15 and 8/16, but checked in and left just a few hours later because the third-floor hallway was torn up, smelled terrible, and was noisy. I was promised a refund and hadn't seen it yet when I first wrote this. Even without the construction, it didn't meet the standard I've seen at other HIE hotels. It's a plain rectangular building surrounded by a parking lot. I wasn't looking forward to trying to get my money back.
