The location was nice, and the space worked well for the Shaun T event and expo. The conference rooms were good, and I had a look at the pool area, which looked great. The bathrooms were clean when I first used them, but by afternoon they were pretty messy. Event staff seemed businesslike and not especially friendly. I'm not sure whether they were hotel employees or event staff, so I can't really attribute that to the hotel. I can't remember the names of the rooms we used. One thing that threw me off was that all the information called it the Holiday Inn, while the sign on the building showed a different name.

The best part of dinner was being able to eat at the attached Ground Round Bar & Grill without driving anywhere, and I enjoyed the food. I skipped breakfast, though there is a restaurant in the hotel that serves it, since breakfast isn't complimentary. This was my first stay here for a business trip, and I'd come back. The employees were kind and helpful, and both the room and hotel were clean. My room had a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator, and the downstairs lounge was convenient.

The building and guest areas felt fresh, quiet, and calm, and my room was clean with comfy beds. I was here for a con and had fun, while the hotel itself was perfectly fine. Breakfast was the one snag: the buffet was solid apart from the waffle batter not being set out. It isn't complimentary, so I'd hoped the batter would be ready, but for some reason it wasn't.

The pool area is a nice feature, with slides for the kids and a hot tub for tired bones. The hotel is right beside the state fair grounds and has had a couple of renovations in recent years. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and nice, though nothing special. The staff were nice, too. For meals, there's the connected Ground Round and the hotel's own restaurant, The Pavilion. I wasn't very impressed by the breakfast buffet.

The kids had a lot of fun in the pool, and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were GREAT, really nice and helpful. This was my first stay here, and even though it's no longer a Holiday Inn, it's still lovely. Breakfast isn't free, except kids 12 and under eat free. It wasn't crazy expensive and was pretty good, definitely above average hotel food lol. We'll definitely stay here again.
