Knights Inn Florence

A peaceful place in a great spot, close to whatever you need around town, and nights aren’t too bad. The rooms are in tip-top shape while they finish the remodeling, with new flooring throughout. There’s an eight-foot pool for summer, which is awesome.

I checked the room before unloading and immediately saw hundreds of baby roaches on the fridge. Turning on the lights revealed even more, including huge adult ones all over the room. I started itching and then noticed flea bites on my ankles. I walked straight to the desk and asked for my money back. When I described the bugs, the staff member didn’t seem surprised. I couldn’t believe it. My boss had booked it after being told it was newly renovated, which was a lie. It’s under new ownership and has a new name, but this was the worst motel I’ve ever seen. The place also seemed to attract prostitutes and drug users. I went to another hotel in town and gladly paid extra to feel safe and be free of bugs. Don’t stay here unless that’s what you’re looking for.

Used wet towels were left on the floor, along with a washcloth in the tub. There were beer bottles in the trash and a cup overflowing with cigarette butts. It was absolutely disgusting. I called the front desk, and they said there were no other rooms and just apologized. They didn’t offer to clean either of our two rooms or even bring fresh linens. Completely unacceptable and filthy. We’ll never try staying there again. Consider all your options first.

Huge bugs were crawling around the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortably high, though with bugs like that I can see why. There was no cable or Wi-Fi, the fridge didn’t work, and there wasn’t a microwave, coffee pot, or anything like that. I couldn’t get comfortable in the bed or sleep. That one night was my last.
