Super 8 by Wyndham Florence OR

Room 102 was a great fit for our two nights, quiet, clean, and otherwise perfect. It had a little fridge and microwave tucked into a small cabinet. Just be aware the tub and shower faucets are reversed, cold on the left and hot on the right. The shower water also got really hot.

That sunny Sunday, December 28, Florence reached 55° under a clear blue sky with no wind. I enjoyed walking to the small shops, picking up a few things, then sitting in the sun on a park bench overlooking the bay, where I saw a Heron among the pilings. It felt like a real treat after missing Christmas with my family and dinner because my condition made driving impossible, and I wasn't well enough company while in pain. I came over by bus from Eugene, a welcome change from a cold, fogged-in 39° there. The Super 8 staff kindly helped me get settled soon after I found my way from the Old Town bus stop. It had just started to drizzle, and I was glad to get cozy in the most beautiful room I've stayed in in Florence, apart from Three Rivers Hotel. After a good night's sleep, the cozy bed and Exquisite pillows helped me continue recovering. The sunshine, nature views, and kindness of the Super 8 employees really helped restore my soul. The rooms are on the small side, but they're clean, modern, and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it's an excellent spot for walking to old town. If you play Pokémon, you can probably reach 3-5 stops from any room. There's no AC, which didn't bother us, though some people may mind. I'd recommend it and stay again.

The outside looks old, but inside it's clean and comfortable, not dingy. I've been disappointed by 3 star hotels before, so I didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable too. I'll definitely stay here again.
