The room held up well against the expensive, fancy brands, and the gentleman at the desk was friendly and helpful. If I’m back in the area, I’ll stay here again.

Our room was nasty: a dead spider on the floor, debris in the tub, mold on the shower curtain, and hair on the bathroom door. The beds were hard as rocks, one pillowcase was stained, and there were no towels, shampoo, or tissues. We’d requested extra pillows before arrival and didn’t get them either. A complete waste of money. Please don’t stay here.

You get what you pay for here. It costs less than half what other hotels in the city charge, and it’s conveniently near I-95, with a McDonalds and a gas station next door and a Waffle House across the street. Good value.

The online price was $46, but we paid over $150 for a dirty room where we felt unwelcome. A $100 fee is added to card transactions, and the only notice is taped to the establishment’s window, so a booking agent can’t tell you in advance. If you book after midnight, you’re locked in and have to pay the extra amount. After hours, the lobby is locked, and you have to stand outside and pass things through a metal box in the wall. The glass is so dark and thick that you can’t see or speak to the person on the other side. The room smelled bad and was dirty, with a blood stain on the sheets. Spiders covered the door, leaving a person-sized gap through the webs that took all my courage to walk through. The bathroom ceiling was torn, with a huge water stain. The only good thing was that there were no bedbugs. My husband and I had traveled for hours and couldn’t book until after midnight. Canceling meant losing what we’d paid and then having to search for another room, so I seriously considered sleeping in the car.
